Publisher’s note:  Too many of our Vets are faced with uphill challenges, and the story of Captain Flip Klein describes only one of them.  However this hero and his wife barely managed to escape from a home fire that caused extensive damage to their home and they need help.  If you or anyone you know is able, please click on this link to donate, and please share this information far and wide.

WJLA News:  GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WJLA) – “A quadriplegic veteran who survived an explosion in Afghanistan two years ago was injured along with his wife while escaping a blaze Thursday night that consumed their home just outside Gaithersburg.”

“Authorities said the couple, former Army Capt. Flip Klein and his wife, Jess, were inside the house when the fire broke out; they smelled smoke and made it to their front door, where neighbors - alerted by the couple's dogs - helped carry them to safety.”
