Holding on to our convictions...

I have to believe that libs of all ages are doing the Hokey Pokey, the Hully Gully, Achy Breaky Heart, the Electric Slide, the Right Foot/Left Foot, the Cupid Shuffle, the Biker’s Shuffle, the Curly Shuffle, the Happy Line Dance, and a whole bunch more dancing over this.  I’m talking about the huge division on the 'right’ and the poisonous rhetoric, childish, and often vitriolic name calling of late, which is not only appalling, it helps the left.

I have many friends that share my world viewpoint as a follower of Christ and I can safely say that while none of us are prepared to watch our nation fall without a fight, we will not and should not be forced to compromise on our core values while we are waiting on what we believe, in light of current accelerated prophetic events, to be the imminent return of our Lord, much less be shunned for it. Especially not by fellow conservative people who for the most part we agree with.

I’m not even asking our detractors in the blogosphere to come along side and agree with us, but it would sure be nice of them to show us the same common courtesy and respect that we exhibit when we don’t line up with their platform of "…we can’t win if we concentrate on issues and values.”  I for one don’t understand what any of us are winning if we don’t stand up for what we believe, and if that gets me or any of the rest of us labelled as "holy rollers" or anything else, I guess I can live with it because my mission and ministry is to sound the alarm, not only of what ails America and the world, but also how it ties into the bigger picture of the spiritual warfare that is going on all around us.

I am reminded of the story in Daniel 3:16-21 when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to the graven image Nebuchadnezzar had made and decreed all subjects to worship and they were tossed into a blazing furnace for their faith.  Not only did they survive, Nebuchadnezzar realized the truth they revealed and changed his ways.  And just as they would not bow to a graven image, many of my friends and I are willing to face the furnace of the taunts, innuendos, and veiled demands of those willing to believe the empty words of power hungry men to ‘win.’

Having said all that, is it really too much to ask of what used to be the 'conservative’ party to offer some real choices in primary candidates that could leave us with decent men and women for the House and Senate, as well as the highest office in the land?  While I know none of them is perfect, can we not get some at least mostly conservative men and women like Rick Perry, Scott Walker, Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, Rick Santorum, and Ted Cruz instead of the same old party hack 'money’ favorites like Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Mitt Romney, and some of the others?

Let me be very clear, I do not think Governor Romney is a bad man or anything remotely like that, and I have never cared one iota about his faith.  In fact, I voted for the man…not because I really liked him, but there’s no way I would or could have voted for the impotent disgrace that we have, (i.e., Mitt was for a lot of us the lessor of two evils which is what we always wind up with).  Here are some of the reasons he’s not my favorite; for all of his rhetoric to the contrary, he offered MA the same kind of healthcare garbage that Obama forced down the nation’s throat, he is not what anyone who follows politics would call a friend of the 2nd Amendment, and while he’s not a hard core leftist, he is about as conservative as you’ll find in a MA politician, which I as I’ve described many times before means not as far left as Ted Kennedy.  Also, he doesn’t have a lot of fire in his belly; he didn’t hit POTUS when he could and should have during the campaign and debates, and he conceded without so much as a whimper.

Moving on to the other 'Republicans’ that I hear the name of far too often, I’ll start with Governor Christie.  While I believe his warm reception of POTUS after Hurricane Sandy was expected of any Governor, it was way over the top and it definitely appeared as a sign of support that probably played a role in POTUS’ re-election.  Also, and most importantly for any clear thinking American; at a time when the islamization of America is in full swing, Governor Christie unapologetically seated a muslim on the Superior Court in NJ and stated among other things after the fact and to counter the heat he took, “…and I’m tired of dealing with the crazies.”  That shows his very dangerous, close-minded ignorance on the subject of islam. While I could list more issues with him, that alone should be enough slam the door shut on his potential presidential aspirations.

As far as Jeb Bush is concerned; like them or not, we’ve had enough of that family in DC and we don’t need a guy like Jeb, the most liberal of the 'Bush Bunch’ regardless of what his last name happens to be.  Let me remind everyone again that just a little less than a year after the Benghazi attack Jeb Bush bestowed a Liberty Medal upon none other than Democrat frontrunner Hillary Clinton.  Let the Democrats put on their own bogus shows; why should any Republican, let alone a POTUS contender, help them?  And let’s not forget that he feels illegals breaking our laws to get here is "an act of love.”  The last thing for now is Jeb’s penchant for Common Core…he loves and supports it to pieces, as well as a number of other very liberal causes.

I don’t want either of the two latter men anywhere near the White House…even for a visit.

So there you have it; all a lot of us are asking for, which we certainly won’t get if history is any indicator, are some decent candidates to vote for who love God, believe in the intent of our founders, and won’t compromise on their values for any reason, because we’re tired of holding our collective noses at the polls.  If that makes me and us anything less than patriotic in the eyes of some, and displeases a few people that I don’t answer to in the first place, it’s a badge I’m going to have to wear.
