AFP unfazed by "decorum-less Detert"

Publisher’s note:  Apparently, Florida State Senator Nancy Detert, (R) is unfamiliar with the 1st Amendment and what it guarantees to everyone.  

During a recent hearing, Senator Detert threatened that “she could change the organization’s First Amendment rights to donor privacy.” “When AFP Deputy Director Skylar Zander explained to Senator Detert that Americans for Prosperity, like other non-profit organizations, followed the laws protecting donor identity, she stated, “We could change that.”

It doesn’t matter whether an elected official has a ‘D’ or an ‘R’ after their name, they don’t get to decide which laws apply to whom at their whim when they disagree with the constituency.
