Okay, I don’t care who you are, this is just plain interesting, if not amazing.  John Tyler, the 10th President of the U.S. has two living grandsons.

I’d venture to guess that most people would have to check a history book to even prove to themselves that he was the president at one time….back in 1841 to be exact.

So how exactly does a man, Mr. President, who was born in 1790, have surviving grandchildren?

It goes like this.  The Tyler men have a tendency to procreate often and later in years, and Mr. President started that by siring 15 children.  One of those children, Lyonwas born in 1853 when the president was 63.  Lyon also had a gaggle of children.  Two of those children are Lyon, Jr. and Harrisonborn in 1924 and 1928 respectively.

Both are still alive as of this date.  I just love historical trivia, don’t you?
