The Road To 45...

As I’m wont to do, I’ve been looking around the political scene a lot lately and I thought I’d put my thoughts together regarding who will become the forty-fifth president and find themselves with the unenviable, next to impossible task of cleaning up the staggering mess left by number forty-four and some of his predecessors.

I see the choice we are left with very simple really; and I look at it through two different sets of lenses.  The first lens is my secular side as follows.

For the most part, except in some cases to make note of when some of the candidates exited the race, and then only on various social media, I didn’t have much to say about the election during the primaries.  Now that that circus is in the rear view mirror, the race is down to a manageable size and I can focus on the two remaining choices.

Since Hillary is almost certainly going to be the Democrat nominee, that is to say except in the very unlikely event that she is actually brought to justice this summer which would effectively end her campaign, I won’t even mention her equally bad, if not worse, socialist opponent Sen. Sanders again.

Besides the two real candidates, there is one other that few have ever heard of, but who seems to enjoy being a spoiler in the race just to take a few votes from the other candidates.  I actually met him during the last election cycle in a small group setting and asked him a couple of simple questions; one of which, a question about the use of Sharia Law in the US, he blatantly tried to dodge.  When pressed, he made a complete ass of himself with a nonsensical and un-informed reply to which the gathering started just groaning and shouting at him.  I might add, my friend Tom Trento of The United West caught his lack of knowledge on video the next day which you can view here.

I will not give him publicity by mentioning his name; only that he is running as a Libertarian and it is only a matter of time to see which of the real candidates he affects the most.  Although, he’ll probably hurt Clinton more for which I thank him.

Moving on to the real candidates; on the Democrat side we have a woman, a political machine really, who if not for the fact that she is married to a former president, dubious as he was and continues to be, in my humble opinion, nobody would have ever heard of her except that maybe her criminal activities might have been the basis of a crime show.

In any case, I think it only fair to write a brief resume highlighting some of her worst stuff, so that I’m not accused of just despising her for no real reason.  There is obviously a whole lot more.

As Secretary of State, she presided over the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods in Benghazi who did the best they could to hold off an over whelming force. All of their requests for help prior to that attack went unanswered.  She then joined the administration in lying to the families of those men and the nation stating that the attacks were the result of a video insulting “the Prophet” when they both knew that was untrue.  Had she and POTUS acted responsibly ahead of time, our people and many of the attackers might also have been spared as they may not have attacked.

The flimsy cover-up of her culpability in that debacle continues to this day.

The misuse of servers and emails during her tenure in that post is still under investigation by the FBI, and the only reason she has not been indicted is because the complicit current administration refuses to allow the DOJ to do so. Make no mistake; the mishandling of those emails put you and me, our children and grandchildren, and all of our friends and loved ones in grave jeopardy then and now.

As a US Senator before that, she personally sponsored only three bills that became law, and as you can see, the gravity and importance of those laws will no doubt impact the lives of many Americans for decades to come.

The first piece of legislation S.3145, designated a portion of U.S. Route 20A, located in Orchard Park, N.Y., as the “Timothy J. Russert Highway,” after the former “Meet the Press” host.

The second piece of legislation S. 3613, renamed the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 2951 New York Highway 43 in Averill Park, New York, as the “Major George Quamo Post Office Building.”

The third piece, S. 1241 made the brick house of 19th century female union leader Kate Mullany a national historic site.

Beyond that, her history dating back to the late 60’s is rife with lies, scandals, dead bodies from all over the place; Whitewater, the destruction of the women who her husband molested, and the list goes on and on.  Never has she created a job, signed a paycheck, or run any sort of business.  She has not only never served in the Armed Forces, she has shown nothing but disdain for them during and since her husband’s administration and for those assigned to her Secret Service details.  There are already many books detailing this, and more coming out all the time.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t include her infamous defense of a child rapist who she knew was guilty and found a loophole to get him off; even reportedly laughed about it.

In the wake of the Orlando massacre she predictably used the event to promote her gun control agenda stating that anyone under FBI investigation should never have been able to buy weapons; and I agree, however no-one under FBI investigation should be able to run for POTUS either.  Never has she or will she recognize or answer the real problem.

Finally, ask yourself how you or anyone else would be treated if you committed only a fraction of her crimes…?  We all know that if she were anyone else, she would have been made inmate #1 and locked up long ago.

On to her challenger Mr. Donald Trump; a man who is both loved and despised with equal zeal by whichever side of the fence one is on.

A little about that negative zeal for a moment.  Look, I get it; if you are a Republican or Independent who wouldn’t vote for Clinton, you wanted to see Rubio, Cruz, Carson, or another candidate go the distance and you supported them with everything you had.

However, no matter who you preferred on the Republican side, it’s time to apply whatever soothing salve you use to calm your political nerves; drink a case of Jack Daniels or more if that will do the trick, but in the end, recognize that the real rally cry right now for our survival must be #neverhillary.  Don’t get me wrong, I recognize that many think Trump is merely the lessor of two evils; and maybe he is, but does it make any sense to vote for the greater of two evils…?!

During the last cycle, I, along with a whole lot of other people bit the bullet; so hard that we broke a couple of teeth and the damn bullet as well, but we voted for Romney even though we couldn’t stand him.

Back to Mr. Trump; this is his first attempt at political office, and while he doesn’t possess political experience, having built an amazing business empire, he more than makes up for any political deficit via his business acumen and skills with people.  The points that cause the most visceral reactions from his detractors are the same points that his supporters applaud.  In a day and age when most of our elected officials in both political parties pander to every special interest group and the media, Donald Trump says what We the People think and talk about at BBQ’s, Bars, Ball Parks, and Bowling Alleys.  He is brash, tough talking, and in your face; and that is partly why he is so popular with his base.

Do I like everything he says…?  No, of course I don’t.  Do I think he or anyone else is going to magically fix one hundred years of problems in four or eight years…?  Again, no I do not.

However, I do believe that he loves this country; and already possessing more money and power than he could possibly need, he has no motivation other than love of the country.

His labelling by the left and their paid rioters as a racist because he wants to build a wall on our Southern Border is a joke.  First of all, We the People have been screaming for it forever and a question I would pose to anyone against such a wall is: “where do you live..?”  Whether one lives in a house, an apartment or condo, a homeless shelter, a boat, or even a tent, you are surrounded by some kind of walls with doors and windows.  Does that make you a racist…?  Of course it doesn’t.  Walls, whether they are on our borders or in our homes, are designed as a first step to keep up safe from intruders.

As far as our very porous Southern Border is concerned, we haven’t just let in illegal Mexicans; we have also allowed OTM’s, (Other Than Mexicans) and those are the ones we need to be most concerned about, because they come in with the expressed purpose of doing us great harm.  God only knows how many terror cells have learned Spanish, disguised themselves as Mexicans, and crossed over.  Our enemy is not stupid.

Some say Mr. Trump is “un-presidential.”  If we compare him to the “presidential” behavior of some of the wussified occupants of that office starting with the current resident, then I guess that’s true.  From where I sit, we haven’t had a real man in the WH since President Reagan.  Every one of his successors including the first President Bush had policies that weakened us; each occupant has made us weaker; and of course the current POTUS has done so on steroids, to the point that we have become the laughing stock of the planet, vulnerable to attack at any time from within and without.

So yeah, if some of those guys were/are considered “presidential,” I am looking forward to seeing what an “un-presidential” POTUS can do.

I want a guy in that office that calls a spade a spade; that isn’t afraid to name our enemies, who respects our military and police, and who knows the difference between a good deal and a bad deal.  I want someone that instills confidence in our allies and makes our enemies tremble again….like when Reagan was in office.  And I sure as hell want a guy who will get a concrete fortified WALL, not a fence built on our Southern Border.

Without a doubt, I think he may be getting there, but Mr. Trump still needs to learn a lot more about our biggest threat, which is Islam, and therefore he should sit down to learn the real deal with some people like Pamela Geller, Brigitte Gabriel, Frank Gaffney, Geert Wilders, Allen West, Tom Trento, Damon Rosen, and Robert Spencer, to name just a few.

Having said all that, I need to discuss the other lens I use, my faith lens and Biblical Worldview, which makes up my compass, and doesn’t really allow for us to fix what ails us.  That is to say, mankind is great at making a mess, and really bad at fixing those messes; in fact we suck at it.

My hypothesis is based upon what I see happening globally and very much here in America.  As I have written about before, I believe several things regarding leadership.  We are involved in spiritual warfare and being judged from on High; we have been found sinful and unrepentant; and the bad leaders we have found ourselves saddled with at all levels of government are part of God’s judgement.  I also believe that if we don’t take an immediate, national, collective knee and turn from our many wicked ways, and return to what the founders had intended us to be, we are doomed as a nation.

Additionally, my secular side believes that under normal circumstances, in spite of what the "experts” and polls say; Donald Trump would win in a landslide.  However, since I don’t see a national revival and repentance on the horizon, I believe we may well see a Clinton Presidency as punishment and with that, sadly the end of our republic.  Because, as I said at the very beginning of this article, I doubt we can fix the mess we already have; and fixing things after a Clinton Presidency and the appointments she would make that would outlive her for decades would be absolutely impossible to correct and we will cease to exist as a free society.

Whatever happens, I just don’t see our Heavenly Father putting up with our behavior a whole lot longer, and while no one knows the exact day, I, like many, believe His time is nigh.

Choose wisely, look up, and think America…
