It's The End Of America As We Know It...

October 19, 1781; five years, several months, and a few days after the Founding Fathers declared independence from Great Britain; a day that no doubt lives in secret infamy in Great Britain, because that was the day that, while his band played “The World Turned Upside Down”, British General Lord Cornwallis surrendered to General George Washington at Yorktown, effectively ending the American Revolution.

The “official” end to hostilities didn’t happen until almost two years later when the Treaty was signed in Paris in 1783; there were no faxes or emails, and ships were at the mercy of the wind; but the war was over and Britain had tucked its tail between its legs and scampered home, at least until 1812 when they decided to try and regain lost ground and Americans once again handed them their tea guzzling butts.

And so it was; for about the next 150 years or so, even through our darkest hours, we were a country to be reckoned with.  We could be one’s best friend or worst enemy; the choice was up to them, and then not long after WWII, our worst enemies came out in full force from within.

In a lot of ways, the theme has gone from “The World Turned Upside Down”, to “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It” because in the name of “tolerance,” We the People have allowed our elected leaders to cave in to the left time after time, and we now find ourselves barely a shadow of what our Founders had in mind.

We went from a nation that stood for something and mostly stood together, with both political parties mostly doing what was best for the nation even when they disagreed upon the approach, to a nation divided and on the brink of collapse with neither political party acting in the best interests of anyone except themselves, special interest groups, and lobbyists. 

Indeed, up until the last presidential election, it looked as if we were on a collision course with embracing socialism and worse.

However, the battle is far from over.  In fact we are in for the fight of our lives; we have the mid-term elections in less than a month which while I believe will prove to be a red tidal wave, especially given the embarrassing behavior of the left during the entire seating of Justice Kavanaugh, doesn’t really mean much if a Republican led Congress does not fulfill the voter mandate, which they haven’t thus far.

While I would like to see a major campaign promise by President Trump fulfilled right after the mid-term, my political crystal ball tells me it won’t.  And that is to pursue and prosecute Hillary Clinton and some of the others for their treason and crimes.  I say it won’t because right after the election and New Year everyone will be in campaign mode for 2020, which scares the snot out of me because if the president does choose to wait until after the election and he loses (which is doubtful), Hillary nor any of her criminal brethren will ever face justice on this side of Eternity. 

And while I certainly trust that God will render His justice upon her and them, not prosecuting leaves us collectively with a distrust of our justice system, at a time when confidence in that system has probably never been more important…
