Brigitte Gabriel in Palm Beach Gardens

After what seemed like months of planning and arranging, packed into only three weeks, the Palm Beach County Tea Party and Act For America pulled just an amazing team of volunteers and resources together, and Palm Beach County was blessed to host Brigitte Gabriel for one night.

Conference calls were made, emails were sent, hands were shaken, and mistakes as well as friendships were made; in the end, last Thursday evening Brigitte Gabriel brought the house down at The Palm Beach Lakes Community High School.  Brigitte tells her story of how at an early age, she and her family were victimized by Islamic Extremists, of how they had to live in a bomb shelter for years, and how she overcame the fear, the nightmares, and the anguish of the struggle, and how she found success in America.

Then 911 happened and she knew that what she had escaped from followed her to our shores. That day changed everything, and she is now entirely devoted to sharing her story, how she sees it now happening here, and what can be done to stop it.  I only know how long she spoke because I happened to glance at my watch after introducing her onto the stage; if not for that, the near hour and a half talk seemed like only a few minutes, and everyone wanted to hear more.

When the speech did conclude, Brigitte happily autographed hundreds of books and CD’s, took countless photos, and greeted everyone with a warmth and grace that is unheard of in today’s marketplace of ideas.

The Patriots Press would like to extend our humble thanks to the coordinators of the event for allowing us the privilege to take part in such a momentous undertaking.  I would also like to acknowledge and thank my photographer, Boris, the countless volunteers; I would mention everyone by name, however space is limited and I don’t want to run the risk of forgetting anyone.  However, the security staff, the set up and advance teams, the many I didn’t even see, and so many others; you did it, “you built that.”

Certainly, I want to thank the awesome staff at PBG CHS, and the Police that were on hand to ensure the safety of everyone.  To those individuals that came in from all around So. Florida, and had to deal with outrageous traffic, we thank you for helping make this an unqualified success, and we sincerely look forward to bringing Brigitte and her group back to So. Florida very soon after the holidays.
