Freshmen SEC Teams and Quarterback meet during Rivalry Weekend

Rivalry weekend games will include SEC newcomers Missouri at #9 Texas A&M Saturday.  These two new SEC east and west additions will play each other to end their regular season college schedules and give Heisman contender Johnny Manziel room to rack up more yardage.

So how did these newbies fair this season?  Texas A&M is 9-2 with losses to Florida and LSU.  I predict the Aggies will win this weekend against the MO Tigers whose lackluster season has produced a 5-6 season.  I will give Missouri credit for some exciting football to watch in their 51-48 win over Tennessee in four overtimes.

The Aggies have been led this year by freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel whose stats when compared with the Tigers speaks volumes for the differences in these two teams overall results.  Manziel threw for 21 touchdowns and 7 interceptions racking up a total of 3047 passing yards thus far, and his rushing stats are equally impressive.

This out of seemingly nowhere quarterback rushed for 1114 yards in 172 carries resulting in 17 touchdowns.  Manziel is the first SEC player to pass for more than 3000 yards and rush for more than 1000 yards in a season.  Setting records in this league is no easy task.

Missouri has struggled this season, and with combined stats from players James Franklin and Corbin Berstresser, touchdown passes and interceptions are equal at 13 each with 2339 combined passing yards.  Their total rushing yards is not worth the mention.

While the SEC has seen two new teams this year, and in this football leagues winning style, we may also see the first freshman Heisman winner in the trophy's history.  Prediction: Manziel and Texas A&M have a bright future ahead.  Mizzou welcome to the SEC.
