Dow Down Early in Response to European Markets

Shortly after opening bell, in about half an hour of trading, the Dow began Monday by going down 27 points, to 13,964.30. This is partly in response by U.S. exporters to further declines in the European economy, as Greek farmers blockade the roads in a daily campaign of anti-austerity protests against the Government, which now sees that it is in the best interests of its people to lead with more fiscally conservative methods, and which says that the deep spending cuts are working.  Unfortunately for U.S. exporters, EU Central Bank President Mario Draghi says that if the Euro continues to rise, the trading block’s monetary policy could shift.
