Texas Players suspended from play in Saturday's Alamo Bowl

Reports today from San Antonio confirm that #23 Texas will be minus two players in Saturday's Alamo Bowl as they play #13 Oregon State.

The two unidentified players were suspended after local police began an investigation into alleged sexual assault.  While the police department spokesman has stated the investigation is in its early stages, Coach Mack Brown of Texas said the players "broke team rules" and would not be "available for the game".

The alleged incident took place Friday night around 2:00 a.m. per the police report, and involved an unidentified 21-year-old woman and two suspects who were identified as students.

The female reported to police that she had been drinking prior to the two students coming back to her hotel room where the alleged incident occurred.

Will Tim Tebow come home to boost the Jaguars?

Rumors have been circulating for the past few weeks that Jets quarterback Tim Tebow may return to Florida, and to a spot on the Jacksonville Jaguars team to boost the franchise's less than exciting overall record.

Would the star power of a UF hero and an all around 'good guy' role model be a boost for this NFL team whose record of 2-13 hardly excites fans?

The Orlando Sentinel recently published an article showing why this may be a very symbiotic relationship for both Tebow and the Jags.

"That famous NFL analyst Robert Frost said it best: "Home is the place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in."

College Football Week 15 News & Highlights

College Football Week 15:

Navy defeated Army 17-13 in Saturday's  annual game.

Johnny Manziel, a redshirt freshman quarterback for Texas A&M, won the Heisman Trophy.

Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn began hiring his staff of assistant coaches with Ellis Johnson coming in as defensive coordinator.  Charlie Harbison from Clemson was also hired to assist Johnson.  Harbison has worked with Johnson at two former SEC schools, Alabama and Mississippi State.

Butch Jones will lead the Tennessee Volunteers as head coach, and defended his lack of SEC experience by noting at a press conference on Saturday that notables Nick Saban and Les Miles had "zero experience" too.

On a personal note and with opinion: Jerry Sandusky's lawyer released statements this week that Sandusky is looking for less severe prison accommodations and will be requesting less restrictive imprisonment.  Sandusky was convicted of sexually abusing 10 boys and was sentenced to 30 - 60 years in prison for his crimes.  Sandusky this isn't club med and you landed these accommodations for sexual abuse while in a position of authority with young boys.  Given the circumstances, perhaps punishment is what you should expect.
