Florida Gators fall to Georgia for First Loss of the Season

Jacksonville, FL - The Florida Gators fall to rival Georgia losing 17 - 9 at the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party at EverBank Field today.

 

Jarvis Jones led the Georgia defense with three sacks and two forced fumbles to push the Bulldogs to a victory and shut down the Gators ground game.  Florida racks up their first loss of the season and Georgia eyes a possible SEC Championship Game.  Georgia faces Ole Miss and Auburn to round out their conference play.

 

John Driskel of Florida threw two interceptions, while Georgia's Aaron Murray threw three interceptions during the first half of this SEC matchup.  Murray's 45-yard touchdown pass to Malcolm Mitchell put the Bulldogs ahead and secured the win.

Number 1 Alabama takes on MSU Bulldogs

This college football season has had its share of weekly upsets, but Alabama remains number one in both BCS and AP polls.  This week the Crimson Tide plays undefeated Mississippi State, and while the odds are in their favor, do not discount this showdown between these rival SEC teams and their talented quarterbacks.

 

Tyler Russell will lead the Bulldogs on the field for Mississippi State, while A. J. McCarron works to keep his Alabama team undefeated and on top of the polls.  The SEC West has some exciting football this Saturday night as these longstanding rivals take to the field in Tuscaloosa.

 

Game time is 8:30 PM ET and fans can catch all the excitement on ESPN.
